The King Edward Cove is a protected bay on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located immediately southwest of Mount Duse on the west side of the Cumberland East Bay . The place Grytviken is at the head end and the main town King Edward Point at the entrance.
This bay was already visited by the first seal hunters in South Georgia. Mapping was carried out by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld . The bay is named after the British monarch Edward VII (1841-1910).
