The King Island Municipality is a local administrative area (LGA) in the Australian state of Tasmania . The area is 1098 km² and has about 1600 inhabitants (2016).

King Island is an island northwest of the main Tasmanian island. 14 districts and villages are on the island: Currie, Egg Lagoon, Grassy, ​​Loorana, Lymwood, Naracoopa, Pearshape, Pegarah, Reekara, Sea Elephant, Surprise Bay, Wickharn, Yambacoona and Yarra Creek. The seat of the council is in Currie on the west coast of the island, where about 700 inhabitants live (2016).

The King Island Council has nine members. The mayor (mayor), his deputy (deputy) and seven councilors are directly elected by the residents of the LGA. King Island is not subdivided into districts.
