Cheung King Wai ( Chinese  張敬 煒  /  张敬 炜 , Pinyin Zhāng Jìngwěi , Jyutping Zoeng 1 Ging 3 wai 5 ; born September 3, 1985 ) is a former Chinese cyclist from Hong Kong .

Athletic career

Cheung started his career in 2005 with the Continental Team Purapharm from Hong Kong. At the Tour of South China Sea he finished 14th overall in his first season. At the Asian Games in Doha in 2006 he finished seventh in the team time trial with his compatriots Wong Kam Po , Kin San Wu and Chun Hing Chan , all of whom were under contract with the same team. Shortly thereafter, he won the gold medal in the 40-kilometer points race. Four years later, at the 2010 Asian Games , he won the silver medal in the team pursuit together with Cheung King-lok , Ki Ho Choi and Kwok Ho Ting . In 2013 he became a three-time national track champion and Hong Kong road champion. In 2014 he was again national champion on the track.

In 2016, Cheung officially ended his cycling career, but entered the Hong Kong road championship again in 2018 and finished 35th.
