Kinnersley Castle is a country house in Kinnersley , about three kilometers east of the village of Eardisley in the English county of Herefordshire .

The medieval castle was built of stone during the reign of King Henry I (1100–1135). The Elizabethan country house that stands on the property today has covered almost all traces of the medieval castle.

Although the house clearly shows Elizabethan stylistic features from the outside, it has many details from different periods. It was “renovated” in the 16th century by the Vaughn family . A fine example of intricate plasterwork can be seen in the Solar , one of the oldest in Herefordshire. There are many green men and snake dogs on this ceiling; many details are gold plated. A boy's head with a snake around his neck is carved on the stone chimney supraporte .
