Kinotawr
Kinotawr ( Russian Кинотавр ; internationally also spelled Kinotavr ) is a summer film festival that has been held annually since 1991 in the southern Russian city of Sochi on the Black Sea . The festival was brought to life by Mark Rudinstein and Oleg Jankowski . Along with the Moscow International Film Festival, it is one of the most important film festivals in Russia .
Originally the festival was aimed only at Russian filmmakers, but the geographical criterion was lifted in 2011, films for Kinotawr now only have to be made in Russian to be able to participate, but they can have been produced in any country.
The name of the event is a suitcase word from Kino and Minotaur (Russian Minotawr ).
