Kiphire is a city in the Indian state of Nagaland .
The city is the capital of the Kiphire district . Kiphire has town committee status . The city is divided into 11 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 16,487 inhabitants, of which 8,587 were men and 7,900 were women. Christians make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 93%. Hindus form a minority of over 4%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 87.3%, well above the national average. 92.8% belong to the Scheduled Tribes .
