As the name suggests, the history of this village is closely related to the church. The church goes back to an own church, probably built in the 9th century, which later became the parish church for the entire valley between Baden and the mouth of the Aare. In a bull by Pope Hadrian IV , the place name was first attested in 1157 as "Chilotorf".

Infrastructure

In the middle of the village is the Catholic church and a restaurant. There is also an old people's center, a car repair shop, two accommodation providers, a kindergarten, a hairdresser, a butcher and a cemetery.

Events

Every year there is a party to mark the end of summer on the last Saturday before the school summer break. Every five years in late summer there is a big village festival, the "Sichlete".
