The church newspaper Kirche + Leben is the Catholic weekly newspaper for the diocese of Münster . It appears weekly in a sold circulation of around 41,000 copies (as of 2020). This makes it the diocese newspaper with the highest circulation in Germany. In the 1st quarter of 1987 the total circulation was still a good 202,000 copies. The interviews and conversations of Kirche + Leben are often picked up by other media.

content

The diocese newspaper has been divided into five books since September 2016 .

  • In the first book (pages 1–8) there is a focus on pages 4/5. The content also includes a commentary, information about the world church and media topics. On page 2 the Gospel and the readings are printed, on page 6 there are letters to the editor.
  • In the second book “From the Diocese” (pages 9–12) readers will find news, reports and portraits on topics from the Diocese of Münster. There is a gloss on each page.
  • In the third book "From the Regions" (pages 13-20) there are regional pages for Borken / Steinfurt, Recklinghausen / Coesfeld, Münster / Warendorf and the Oldenburg official district.
  • The fourth book, “Family Journal” (pages 21–24), contains numerous tips and reports.
  • The fifth book “From the Churches” appears in different editions and contains information on times of worship and events in the local church congregations.

Online magazine

The online magazine www.kirche-und-leben.de provides up-to-date information on church-related topics in the diocese of Münster, in Germany, the Vatican and around the world. There are also impulses for the personal life of faith. In November 2016, Kirche-und-leben.de replaced the online magazine kirchensite.de, which was founded in 2002. The editor-in-chief of Kirche-und-leben.de is Markus Nolte. The weekly newspaper and internet magazine work cross-media and complement each other.
