history
After the city of Halle continued to expand at the beginning of the 20th century, the large inner-city churches were soon no longer sufficient. These founded subsidiary communities outside the old town limits, some of which later also became independent. In 1932/1933, the Georgengemeinde built a community center in the south-west of Halle, which was consecrated as a welfare building with an emergency church and named after the source of the nearby Gesundbrunnen . In 1934 the community became independent.
The architect Bruno Föhre originally had the plan to build a spacious square with a large church in the middle and meeting houses on the side. Pergolas should connect to the church. However, only the building on the left was realized, which today houses the church hall, a kindergarten and community rooms.
