Church of Silence

Church of silence and Chapel of Silence are names for meditation churches that the meditation serve and contemplation. Although mostly on services in liturgical form is dispensed, which are church buildings usually not defiled , but remain sacred spaces.

Germany

  • Christophoruskirche (Altona) , Hamburg, built in 1884, redesigned from 2007–2009 to a usage concept called the “Church of Silence”.
  • Evangelical Church Center Kronsberg , Hanover, built 1999–2000, has housed the project "City Monastery - Church of Silence" since 2014
  • Chapel of Silence, Osnabrück, since 2014 meditation offers

Finland

  • Kamppi Chapel , Helsinki, built 2009–2012 on Narinkka Square in Helsinki city center as the “Chapel of Silence”
