Rørvik Church (July 2007)

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rørvik was a long church from 1896 in the parish of Nærøysund in Fylke Trøndelag in Norway .

The church was made entirely of wood and had room for 200 visitors. The architects of the church, consecrated by Johannes Skaar on October 27, 1896 , were Ole Scheistrøen and Arne Selvik .

The church was built at the instigation of the residents of Rørvik after the nearest church in Garstad was over 20 kilometers away.

On May 1, 1940, a bomb fell on a hill between the church and Johan Bergs gate . The church was badly damaged. The subsequent restoration, however, was easier than the original due to lack of money.

Rørviker Church was completely destroyed in a fire on February 18, 2012. According to local police, two children under the age of 13 admitted that they started a fire on the church, which led to a fire in the church.
