Organs of the city

Evangelical Church of St. Nikolai

Organ construction is mentioned for the first time in the Nikolaikirche in Prenzlau as early as 1457 ; However, the builder and the size of the instrument can no longer be determined. In 1595 the community received a new organ from Nikolaus Maaß from Stralsund. In 1789 a new organ was built by Johann Simon Buchholz from Berlin. In 1890 this instrument had to give way to a work by Wilhelm Sauer , Frankfurt / Oder, which is still preserved today in a modified form.

In the spring of 1945 the plant was destroyed and never replaced.

The earliest instrument can be traced back to 1585, the next new building not until 1852 by Friedrich Kaltschmidt, Stettin. In 1945 this plant was also destroyed and replaced in 1958 by a much smaller one from Schuke, Potsdam.

Evangelical Church of St. Sabines

In 1817 Carl August Buchholz built his masterpiece in this church. The instrument had to give way to a new building by Wilhelm Sauer as early as 1895. In 1955 the Sauer organ was removed and a new organ by Alexander Schuke , Potsdam, was built in its place .
