Church foundation
A Roman Catholic church foundation is a subspecies of the church foundation in the Bavarian dioceses . It is to be distinguished from beneficiary foundations and other foundations. Church foundations are foundations under public law . The seat of the church foundation is the location of a planned or existing church. A church foundation can also be responsible for several churches.

Depending on the function of the church, the church foundations are divided into:

task
The church foundation is the bearer of all legal relationships of the local church. The remuneration of the clergy, the pastoral consultant and the community consultant is the task of a test foundation. Their income goes to the dioceses, as they have taken over the salary. She has to bear the costs for the divine service and the pastoral care. It has to preserve the church cemetery, if any. Depending on the local conditions, the rectory also belongs to the church foundation or the respective federal state. If it belongs to the church foundation, its maintenance must also be borne. In principle, the collections of their respective churches flow to her.
Church administration
The church administration administers the church assets under the supervision of the church foundation supervisory authority. It decides on the budget and the annual accounts. It is to be distinguished from the parish council , which is entrusted with pastoral tasks.
- Church administration board
The church administration board is usually the pastor of the respective parish. If a curate or an expositus has been appointed for the church foundation, the (ore) -bishop's ordinariate determines who is the head of the church administration. At the request of the church administration board, a deputy church administration board can be appointed by the ordinariate, which also determines the powers.
- Church administration members
Depending on the number of Catholics in the parish, a certain number of church administration members is elected. Close relatives are not allowed to be members of the church administration at the same time.
- in Bavaria: up to 2,000 Catholics 4 members, up to 6,000 Catholics 6 members, more than 6,000 Catholics 8 members, 2 members can be appointed, the term of office is 6 years and elections will take place in November 2024 and 2030.
- Church caretaker
In Bavaria, the church caretaker is usually elected from among the church administration. He runs the cash register and is responsible for the accounting, as long as this task is not transferred to a church employee.
