The Kiwibukta ( Norwegian for kiwi bay ) is a small bay on the east coast of the West Antarctic Peter I Island . It lies between the Michajlovodden and the northeastern end of the Vostok coast .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it after the greenish lake water of the bay, which is reminiscent of that of a kiwi fruit in its color .
