In 1907 the KjBJ 1–2 steam railcars were procured by Kjeflinge-Barsebäcks Järnvägs AB for the newly opened Kävlinge – Barsebäckshamn railway .

These steam railcars were built according to the Purrey construction principle by Arlöfs Mekaniska Verkstad & Waggonfabrik in Arlöv . They were sufficient to handle all passenger traffic on the route up to the takeover by Statens Järnvägar (SJ).

Technical Equipment

The railcars had a driven axle and two running axles. Since there was only one driver's cab, they had to be turned with a turntable at the terminal stations . In addition to the 3rd class passenger compartment, there was a mail compartment and a luggage compartment.

SJ X5 / CF1

When the company with the route and the vehicles was taken over by SJ on May 1, 1927 after long negotiations, the vehicle designations changed. The series was defined as SJ X5 / CF1 , the KjBJ 1 railcar received the number 402 , the KjBJ 2 the number 401 .

The X5 / CF1 402 railcar was originally intended to be converted into the C3h 2812 passenger car . It was parked in 1930 and scrapped in Malmö in 1932 .

SJ Xå

From 1933 the remaining railcar was designated as Xå 401 in anticipation of the 1939/1940 series scheme . Before the official introduction of the numbering system, it was retired in 1937 and sold to Helsingborg – Hässleholms Järnväg (HHJ).

HHJ Fm 133

It is unclear whether the car was still used as a steam railcar at Helsingborg – Hässleholms Järnväg. It was converted into a two-axle baggage car.

Further whereabouts

After the nationalization of the HHJ, the car came back to the SJ in 1940 and was given the number EF3 611 , in 1943 this was changed to EF3 8611 . From 1955 it was run as a service vehicle with the designation Tjv 647 in Nässjö. In 1969 it was named Qgv 945 0725 as a workshop trolley . In 1985 it was scrapped in Vislanda .
