Kjell Åke Modéer (* 1939 in Malmö ) is a Swedish lawyer and university professor.

Modéer studied law at Lund University and received his doctorate in 1975 . In Lund, he held the endowed professorship at the law faculty in memory of the great legal scholar Samuel Freiherr von Pufendorf . Modéer had been in close contact with the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald since the 1960s and researched the “jurisdictions of the Swedish crown in the German imperial territory”.

In 2000 the University of Greifswald and in 2004 the University of Lund awarded him an honorary doctorate. In 2007 Kjell became Å. Modéer awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class .

On May 25, 2007, Kjell Åke Modéer retired.
