The Klafterberg is a 357.7 m high mountain near Wolfsburg-Unkeroda in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .
The Klafterberg is located in the middle Eltetal , on the south side of the Thuringian Forest . On the east side of the Klafterberg, on the outskirts of Unkeroda, there are numerous ravines as evidence of early modern copper slate mining near Förtha and Unkeroda. The copper ores extracted from the shafts above Förtha and on Clausberg were transported to the Attchenbach smelter near Unkeroda for further processing. The Förtha train station is located at the foot of the Klafterberg.
