Klaipėda Marathon is taking place since 2016 Marathon in Lithuania 's third largest city and port city of Klaipeda on the Baltic Sea . The Klaipėda Municipality is the main sponsor and namesake. The organizer is VšĮ “Ponas maratonas”. You can choose between a marathon, half marathon , a 10 km distance, a 5 km distance and a 0.5 km children's run. The routes are in the Smiltynė district in the Curonian Spit National Park , where the Lithuanian Maritime Museum with a dolphinarium is located. In 2018 there were 400 participants, including soldiers from the Baltic NATO mission from Portugal and other countries. The oldest marathon runner was Petras Silkinas at the age of 77.
