Klangwelt is a music project in the genre of electronic music or synthesizer music. The musician Gerald Arend (* 1966 ) from Norderstedt is behind Klangwelt .

General

Gerald Arend began experimenting with synthesizers in the early 1980s . He was inspired by the music of artists such as Jean Michel Jarre , Tangerine Dream , Vangelis or Klaus Schulze . The first attempts to produce their own music consisted of participating as a keyboard player in several (unknown) bands that made music in the style of Neue Deutsche Welle and independent pop / rock, among other things . Over time, Arend built his own home recording studio. In the mid-1990s he finally began to record his own electronic instrumental pieces under the project name "Klangwelt". The first album was only released in 2002, namely the CD Weltweit ; it was produced on Lambert Ringlage's specialist label "Spheric Music". This CD met with a very good response in the electronics scene; At the beginning of 2003 it was chosen as the third best CD of 2002 in the vibration elections, at the same time the track “Nordland” took second place in the “Best Title of the Year” category and Klangwelt itself took first place in the “Best Newcomer of the Year” category ". At the end of 2003, Klangwelt released the next album, The Age of Numbers , which was voted the second best CD of 2003 in the subsequent vibration elections. The track "Lucky Numbers" from this album was also released in 2004 on the sampler Mystic Beats 3 from the record label ZYX Music .

Klangwelt's musical style is relatively diverse and cannot be directly compared with that of another artist or assigned to a particular musical genre. Mostly it is flowing, melodic and atmospheric synthesizer music, in which - according to the official website - "warm, atmospheric soundscapes, pulsating rhythms and catchy melodies combine to create relaxing and stimulating instrumental pieces, professionally produced in extensive 3-D stereo Sound ".
