Holly Lisle

Holly Lisle (* 1960 in Salem , Ohio ) is an American author of fantasy and science fiction literature.

As a child and teenager, she traveled with her family to the USA , Costa Rica and Guatemala . She worked as a versatile music artist and illustrator before concentrating on writing in close collaboration with Marion Zimmer Bradley and soon celebrating her first successes as a writer. She is also known for her writing instructions for budding authors through her book Mugging the Muse: Writing Fiction for Love And Money , which has so far only been published in English and is available as a free download on the Internet. She is currently writing a crime series and new fantasy novels.

In 1993, her novel Fire in the Mist won the Compton Crook Award for best debut novel .
