Aaron Dale Allston (born December 8, 1960 in Corsicana , Texas , † February 27, 2014 in Springfield , Missouri ) was an American writer and game designer. Allston is known in German-speaking countries as the author of Star Wars novels .

Life

Aaron Allston was the son of Tom Dale Allston and Rose Binford Boehm. According to his own account, he began to write at the age of eleven. He studied journalism and attended high school in Denton . After finishing high school, he moved to Austin , the capital of Texas, and attended the University of Texas there . He became an employee of Space Gamer magazine ; later he worked as a game designer. In addition, he continued to work as an author and published his first novel in 1988. In 1997 he began writing on the Star Wars universe.

As a game designer, Allston worked primarily with Steve Jackson and developed extensions for his game Car Wars as well as for the games Battle Cars by Gary Chalk and Ian Livingstone and Highway 2000 by Russell P. Neal.
