Steve Jackson (entrepreneur, 1953)
Steve Jackson (* 1953 in Tulsa , Oklahoma , USA ) is an American game inventor.
Jackson has been developing games, especially role-playing games, since 1976 . In 1980 he founded the company Steve Jackson Games , through which most of his games were published. His trading card game INWO ( Illuminati. New World Order ) based on the Illuminati game, which he also invented, sold over 63 million cards between 1982 and 1994. Jackson is one of the most successful game inventors of all time.
Jackson developed the role-playing system GURPS , the tabletop Car Wars and the card game Munchkin .
Jackson also owned an online internet service, Illuminati Online , for a long time before transferring it to Prism Net Ltd. sold.
He is often confused with the British author of the same name who became known as the founder of Games Workshop and author of the Fighting Fantasy franchise.
