The rattle rose , also known as Klatschrose or Flitschrose, is a popular name for the corn poppy (Papaver rhoeas L.). Other names are field rose, corn rose, corn poppy, wild poppy. In heraldry , this heraldic figure rattle rose is used in heraldic descriptions in order to get a better blazon. The term and also the poppy did not become widely used in heraldry. Use in stylized form is the preferred heraldic representation.

One example is the description of the coat of arms Elisabeth Baroness von Eyss, which states, among other on-hook sign with the tips colliding wedges of gold: ... a blue on a goldbesamten sitting rattling Rose Kingfisher ... . The barons of Eyss also have the rattle rose in their coat of arms. The tinging of the coat of arms is usually red.
