description

Geographically, the Prussian Rhine Province included the current administrative districts of Aachen , Düsseldorf , Koblenz , Cologne and Trier . In this book of arms, the enrolled and non-enrolled noble families from this province are represented with their arms in five volumes. The author CSTh. Bernd attached great importance to the faithful representation of the original and strictly adheres to the existing aristocratic registers . For this proof, he invited many noble owners to check the coat of arms and to sign a list. In the “Report to the inclined reader” the editor formulates the criteria for inclusion in this book of arms:

"... 1) The official registers of the matriculated nobility according to the differences made, as counts, barons and nobles, in which they are listed according to the Abece for the sake of easier overview, but are designated by the numbers added after their names in the order they are reported to the royal high presido, as accordingly their names in the register and their coats of arms in the original coat of arms books of the secret state archive follow; 2) In front of the coat of arms descriptions, the full names of those who sent their painted coats of arms and the seal impressions of them with their signature for the nobility matriculation, stating their (then) place of residence, the day and year of submission, together with the names of the family members mentioned who are entitled to use the same coat of arms, and finally the numbers under which they themselves are listed in the special sections of the registers and their coats of arms are in the registers of coats of arms of the secret state archive. 3) The description of the coats of arms themselves, taken literally from the diplomas - whereby a document book is produced from this page - for all those where such was attached by the senders, but for the others by the publisher, according to principles and one Wise what he speaks about in the descriptions of the previous memories.
