Klaus-Peter Riemer (* 1944 in Halle (Saale) ) is a concert flutist and was a lecturer at the Rhineland State University for Music .

Riemer gained his orchestral experience with the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker , the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln and the Bachvereinorchester Bonn. He played under the direction of conductors such as B. Jean Martinon , Eugen Szenkar , Horst Stein , Marek Janowski and Günther Wich .

He has performed as a soloist in Europe, among others, in the Milan Scala (Verdi-Saal), in the Konzerthaus Wien (Schubert-Saal), in the Bach Museum Leipzig and played radio recordings in the Bavarian Radio Munich, in the MDR Leipzig, Deutschlandfunk / Deutschlandradio Köln, WDR Köln , Radio Hilversum, ORF-Studio Wien, BBC London and the broadcaster Free Berlin.

Some composers wrote pieces for Riemer. The composition “Incontri” for flute and harp (new version 2000) by Jürg Baur was premiered on November 11, 2001 in the presence of the composer by Klaus-Peter Riemer and the solo harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic Xavier de Maistre in the Goethe Museum Düsseldorf. Ulrich Leyendecker's composition “Solo for Flute” was composed for him in 1973/1974. “Flöte Umide” by Yojiro Minami is also dedicated to Klaus-Peter Riemer.

His repertoire includes the classical pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert and works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Riemer can be heard regularly at international festivals and renowned concert series.
