Klaus Adam (basketball player)

Klaus Adam (* 12. May 1942 in Jena ) is a former German basketball national player of the former GDR . In 1965 he took part in the basketball European championship in Moscow with the national basketball team of the GDR .

Athletic career

Adam started his career as a handball player before he switched to basketball with his twin brother Günther Adam and played in Cottbus, Halle, Leipzig and Dresden. In October 1970 he was a founding member of the basketball team at the Dresden Engineering College , where he played with the number 4 on his back until the early 1990s.

Personal

He has lived in Dresden with his wife Evelin Adam since 1970 .

His son Dirk Adam (born June 6, 1973) was a successful decathlete at Dresdner SC with a best performance of 7391 points.
