Klaus Arntz

Klaus Arntz (born August 1, 1963 in Kalkar ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and university professor.

Life

Arntz studied Roman Catholic theology from 1982 to 1984 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and from 1984 to 1989 at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . In 1988 Arntz was ordained a priest in Münster. There he completed his doctorate in Catholic theology until 1996 and then completed his habilitation . From 1998 to 2001 he had a teaching position for Catholic moral theology at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . In June 2001 he became a private lecturer at the University of Münster. From November 2001 to May 2012 he was Professor of Moral Theology at the University of Augsburg , 2006/2007 Dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty. Since the winter semester 2012/2013 he has been part of the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Augsburg.

He worked as a chaplain in the St. Antonius parish in Rheine and as a priest in the parish of Oberottmarshausen in Bavaria . In 2012 Arntz gave up his priesthood. He confessed to his relationship with a woman. The Augsburg Bishop Konrad Zdarsa then withdrew Arntz's permission to teach .
