Klaus Böwering (born June 28, 1936 in Wettringen ) is a German conductor, composer, cantor and music teacher.

Live and act

Klaus Böwering was born in Wettringen in Westphalia in 1936. After studying church music in Münster, he went on to study Kapellmeister at the Folkwang School in Essen, and then began his artistic career as a church musician, organist, conductor and composer.

From 1961 to 1988 Klaus Böwering was cantor at St. Dionysius zu Rheine , where he designed the construction of the new organ together with Hans Gerd Klais in 1976 . He gave numerous organ concerts there and on other large organs in Germany.

Since 1964, Klaus Böwering has headed the municipal music clubs Rheine and Gronau. His musical work has significantly shaped the cultural life of these cities.

In 1991 he founded the SOM (Symphony Orchestra of the Rheine Music School). Klaus Böwering also works as a guest conductor with the Overijßel Philharmonisch Orkest (today: HET Symfonieorkest ), the Prague Philharmonic , the Jonge Philharmonie Groningen and the Westphalian Symphony Orchestra Recklinghausen (today: Neue Philharmonie Westfalen ). A particularly fruitful collaboration connects him with the orchestra of the Staatliche Philharmonie Breslau , most recently with the world premiere of the "Kreisau Oratorio" by Mirosław Gąsieniec, dedicated to Helmuth James Graf von Moltke , in Waldenburg, Breslau, Rheine and Gronau. The sound bodies mature under the direction of Klaus Böwering, which is characterized by the combination of textual accuracy and tonal sensitivity, to the highest quality. He succeeded in “interpretations of high density and luminosity” (Recklinghausener Zeitung).

Compositional creation
