Klaus Basten (born October 1, 1963 ) is a former German soccer player . He played a total of seven Bundesliga and 67 second division games .

Career

The striker Basten moved to the Uerdingen professional squad in 1985. Up until 1987 he was substituted on seven times, he was never in the starting XI and he never scored a goal. In 1987 he moved to Union Solingen in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he scored ten goals. He thus contributed significantly to the Solingen relegation. At the end of the season he moved within the league to VfL Osnabrück, for whom he scored seven goals. In 1988 he went to SV Türk Gücü Munich , which had just been promoted to the Bayern League . He remained loyal to Munich until 1995. In March of this year, Basten went to Jahn Regensburg for three months before ending his career at VfR Garching.
