Director / writer

Beer began producing his first own films in 1976. With his nature / landscape documentaries, he mainly specialized in the USA. But he also focuses on the original ways of life, customs and traditions of foreign peoples in his work. He has published his work on DVD and Blu-ray. initiator

On one of his trips through Canada, he visited the Sign Post Forest . He decided to bring something like this to Upper Franconia. A short time later he realized this project under the name Fernwehpark - Signs of Fame . With 300 handprints of celebrities, which he collected for the Fernwehpark-Star-Museum, the original Fernwehpark was over 100 handprints larger than the TLC Chinese Theater Hollywood . Near the Fernwehpark, Beer initiated the associated Fernweh Diner , an American-style restaurant.

After problems arose with the management of the restaurant, it passed into other hands, Beer ended the collaboration and took the handprint collection into safekeeping. The nearby Fernwehpark was closed a short time later, but will become part of the new Summapark in Oberkotzau from 2018.
