Klaus Brökel (born September 1, 1951 in Magdeburg ) is a German engineer. He was a professor for design engineering / CAD at the University of Rostock .

Life

After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Rostock with a specialization in ship technology / mechanics, Klaus Brökel received his doctorate in 1980 at the University of Rostock on the subject of the swellingly loaded radial bearing, taking into account the deformation and a lubricant-gas mixture with any gap geometry . His habilitation in 1990 was on the subject of technical modeling of helical gears based on product model data, also at the University of Rostock. In 1993 he became professor for construction technology / CAD at the Faculty of Engineering, today Faculty for Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology , at the University of Rostock . Klaus Brökel has been the managing director of the Institute for Construction Technology since 1992 and headed the Chair for Construction Technology / Computer Aided Design until 2017.

Research areas

Klaus Brökel carried out research in the fields of mechanical engineering , energy technology and production technology . Special focus areas included hydrodynamic and hydrostatic plain bearings as well as mechanical components of maritime systems.
