Klaus Brandner (artist)

Klaus Brandner (born December 11, 1965 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian painter, graphic artist and sculptor.

Life

Klaus Brandner grew up in Klagenfurt, Austria. After completing his training at the Bundesrealgymnasium Klagenfurt-Viktring with a focus on art education in 1985, he began exhibiting in 1986. Today he lives and works in Klagenfurt. He is a member of the professional association of visual artists in Austria .

Works

Numerous paintings and graphics, which are mainly represented in galleries in German-speaking countries, but also in the rest of Europe, bear witness to his constant work. Klaus Brandner's paintings are made in oil on canvas. His graphics are screen prints .

His small-scale sculptures (up to 50 cm high) are made of fired clay; its colossal statues (from 4 m to 7 m high) consist mainly of metal, concrete and plastics.

Klaus Brandner's sculpture “Idea Catcher” from 2014 is in a permanent exhibition in the Los Cardones sculpture garden of the Gernot Huber Foundation on Tenerife.

In 2015, he artistically designed the facade of the Small Gallery in Triester Straße in Neunkirchen, Lower Austria. There is also his 8 m high sculpture "The Great Guardian".
