In 1979, the design department at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences gave him a professorship for graphic representation and graphic design, especially figurative drawing. Endrikat stayed here until his retirement on February 28, 2005 and has continued to work as a freelance artist in Aachen since then.

Klaus Endrikat, who has been represented with his works in several solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad since 1967, is known far beyond the city limits and is highly valued. His original graphics adorn numerous publications by important authors. The highlights of his work include the graphic appearance of both the RWTH Aachen , which he shaped in 1990 with his department and which he has continuously expanded since then, as well as the corporate design of the FH Aachen as well as the artistic design of the individual boards for the Weg gegen forgetting in Aachen. The logo of the annual Aachen charity run , which has already been held 18 times, was designed by Endrikat, who is himself an ambitious long-distance runner, and has since appeared several thousand times on T-shirts, certificates and flyers.
