Klaus Funk

Klaus Funk (born February 21, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player.

Klaus Funk is a former soccer goalkeeper who began his professional career in 1975 at the then second division club VfB Stuttgart as a substitute goalkeeper behind Helmut Roleder . For Stuttgart, however, he only made four appearances in two years of the second division. He was more successful in 1979 after moving to Eintracht Frankfurt , where he made 25 appearances in the Bundesliga in his first year . He won the UEFA Cup with Frankfurt in the same season . His career for the Frankfurt team ended on June 6, 1981, when he was substituted after a 4-0 half-time deficit against Borussia Dortmund and then only played once for the Frankfurt team. In 1981 Otto Rehhagel brought him to Werder Bremen , where he was substitute goalkeeper behind Dieter Burdenski , but was only used three times in 1986. He then played for another year under his former Stuttgart coach Jürgen Sundermann at Hertha BSC .
