Klaus Ganzer

Klaus Ganzer (born February 2, 1932 in Stuttgart ) is a German Roman Catholic church historian .

Ganzer studied at the University of Tübingen from 1952 to 1957 . In 1957 he was ordained a priest in Rottenburg. In 1963 he received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen. theol. In 1966 he completed his habilitation at the University of Tübingen. From 1968 to 1972 he was a full professor for Middle and Modern Church History at the Trier Theological Faculty, and from 1972 to 1999 he was a full professor for Church history in the Middle Ages and modern times at the University of Würzburg . He is a member of the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz . Heribert Smolinsky and Johannes Meier were among his students . One of his main research areas is the Reformation period .
