Klaus Grabinski

Klaus Grabinski (born February 6, 1962 in Viersen ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

After completing his legal training, Grabinski entered the higher judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1992 . He worked as a probationary judge at the Düsseldorf Regional Court . There he was appointed judge at the regional court in 1995. From 1997 to 2000 he was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant. In 2000 he was appointed judge at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. From this court in 2002 he was transferred to the Düsseldorf Regional Court as presiding judge at the regional court. After his appointment as judge at the Federal Court of Justice, with effect from July 1, 2009 , he was assigned to the 10th Civil Senate , to which he has been a continuous member since June 2, 2020 as its deputy chairman.

Publications

Klaus Grabinski is with a number of magazine publications, u. a. on international private law issues of commercial legal protection. He is also co-author of the Commentary on the Patent Act (11th edition 2015), founded by Georg Benkard and first published in 1936, and the Commentary on the European Patent Convention (EPC, 3rd edition 2019), also published under the name Benkard. His dissertation at the University of Trier (1991) is entitled: The conflict-of-law treatment of access in legally independent companies in private or public hands.
