Klaus Grubmüller
Klaus Grubmüller (born August 18, 1938 in Munich ) is a German Germanic Medievalist .
Life
He completed his studies (1958–1964) in German and Latin Philology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a doctorate in 1965 . After completing his habilitation in 1974, scientific advisor and professor at LMU. From 1977 to 1991 he taught as a professor of German philology at the University of Münster . From 1986 to 1994 he was a specialist reviewer for the DFG , and has since worked regularly as a special reviewer. From 1988 to 1998 he was a member of the Senate Commission for German Research of the DFG. Since 1991 he has been Professor of German Philology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . Since 1993 he has been a member of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen . From 1994 to 2002 he headed the mediaeval work group of the Herzog-August-Bibliothek . In 1999 he was the initiator and director of the interdisciplinary center for medieval and early modern research at the Georg-August University in Göttingen. In 2000 he was co-founder of the International Max Planck Research School Values and Changing Values (Georg-August University and Max Planck Institute for History).
His main research interests are medieval comparative literature, the history of European novelism in the Middle Ages, Latin-German language and literary relations, minnesong, courtly novels, fairy poetry, late Middle Ages and the history of texts and traditions (manuscript and edition studies).
