Klaus Hock (religious scholar)

Klaus Hock (born June 26, 1955 in Coburg ) is a German scholar of Islam and Protestant theologian as well as professor of religious history at the University of Rostock .

Life

In 1981 Hock completed his studies in Protestant theology with a master's degree and received his doctorate in 1985 in Hamburg on the subject of "Islam as reflected in Western theology". After working, among other things, as a research assistant and lecturer, Hock completed his habilitation in 1993 with “The Islam Complex”. From 1994 to 1996 Hock was a consultant at the Working Group on Church Development Service (AG KED) , and since 1996 he has been a professor for the history of religion in Rostock.
