Klaus Josef Lutz (born March 20, 1958 in Munich ) is a German entrepreneur . Since July 2008 he has been the CEO of BayWa AG .

career

Lutz studied law at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich . He started his professional career as a lawyer, but then took on leading positions in various industries and was able to gain experience in the restructuring and development of companies.

Lutz was, among other things, managing director of Digital Equipment GmbH, chairman of the board of DITEC Informationstechnologie AG, managing director of Burda Druck GmbH and chairman of the board of i-center Beteiligungen AG. Lutz was most recently managing director at Süddeutscher Verlag GmbH .

Since July 2008 Lutz has been CEO of BayWa AG , whose business activities extend to the segments of agriculture, construction and energy with a special focus on renewable energies.

In addition, Klaus Josef Lutz is a member of the supervisory boards of listed and private companies, including Giesecke & Devrient . In 2013, Lutz was appointed honorary professor of business administration in the cooperative system by the Technical University of Munich . Since 2016 he has been Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Munich and Upper Bavaria. He has been with the German Raiffeisen Association since 2017 .
