Klaus Kanzog

Klaus Kanzog (born November 23, 1926 in Berlin ) is a German German philologist and professor emeritus .

Life

Kanzog studied German at the Humboldt University in Berlin and received his doctorate there in 1951. At first he worked in library services at the university library of the Free University of Berlin .

From 1964 Kanzog taught at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . His habilitation took place in 1972 and in 1978 he became an extra full professor. He held several visiting professorships, including a. at Dalhousie University in Halifax and the Free University of Berlin. His main research interests include edition philology , film philology, lexicology and narrative theory .

Together with Heinrich von Kleist researcher Hans Joachim Kreutzer , Kanzog planned a historically critical complete edition of Kleist's works.
