Klaus Karl

Klaus Karl (born August 8, 1940 in Vöcklabruck , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian composer and 2010 Tobi Reiser Prize winner .

Life

Klaus Karl grew up in Vöcklabruck and has been living in Ottensheim, northwest of Linz, for many years. Born into a musical family, his father Sepp Karl wrote, among other things, textbooks for guitar, he learned guitar, violin, and later also trombone, bass trumpet and tuba. Karl studied world trade in Vienna and then worked for many years as an export merchant. He used to conduct business negotiations in five different languages. On his numerous business trips, he also had plenty of time to indulge in his "hobby", composing.

As a composer, Klaus Karl has made over 800 pieces of music, many of which were then put on the Internet in his pension. Many of his works are played and sung in the Alpine region today. For his work as a music mediator, but also as a composer, he was awarded the Tobi Reiser Prize in 2010 .

Klaus Karl plays his guitar in a large number of different groups, such as the Ottensheimer Saitenmusi , the Mühlviertler Guitarmusi or the Bloacherbach Trio .
