Klaus Kirschner (politician)

Klaus Kirschner (born November 4, 1941 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , Kirschner completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker , which he first completed with a skilled worker and ten years later with a master craftsman's examination . From 1965 to 1966 he did his military service . From 1968 to 1976 Kirschner worked as a works council.

Klaus Kirschner is married and has one daughter.

Political party

Klaus Kirschner has been a member of the SPD since 1962. From 1972 to 2003 he was chairman of the SPD district association in Rottweil . From 1993 to 1999 Kirschner was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Baden-Württemberg and from 1995 to 2003 he was state chairman of the working group for employee issues of the SPD Baden-Württemberg.

From 1976 to 2005 Klaus Kirschner was a member of the German Bundestag . During the 11th electoral term (1987 to 1990) he was chairman of the Enquête Commission on the structural reform of the statutory health insurance . From 1990 to 1998 he was health policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group . From 1998 to 2002 he was chairman of the Committee on Health and from 2002 to 2005 of the Committee on Health and Social Security.

Klaus Kirschner has always entered the German Bundestag via the Baden-Württemberg state list.
