Klaus Müller-Domnick (born February 1, 1937 in Feudingen ; † April 6, 2000 in Kassel ) was a German sculptor , graphic artist and art teacher .

Life

Klaus Müller-Domnick was born as Klaus Friedrich Müller on February 1, 1937 in Feudingen near Bad Laasphe in Westphalia.

After elementary school in Feudingen, he graduated from the Laasphe secondary school in 1956. From 1956 to 1962 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (at that time the so-called Werkakademie) in Kassel, specializing in art education and crafts with a major in sculpture. This was followed by traineeship training, which he completed in 1965 with the 2nd state examination for teaching at grammar schools. From 1965 until his retirement in 1997 he worked as an art teacher at the Wilhelmschule Kassel .

In the meantime, from 1968 to 1970 he had a teaching position at the HbK Kassel (teaching content school practical studies) and in 1969 a guest lecturer at the HbK Kassel on "Spatial-plastic design".

From 1971 to 1972 he had a teaching position at the comprehensive university in Kassel, organizational unit of Gestalt theory (teaching content of Gestalt theory and school practice). Before that, he spent 1970 on a grant from the Federal Minister of the Interior at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

From 1973 he worked in the documenta forum Kassel. From 1974 he was the specialist for art and works of the study seminar 1 for the teaching post at grammar schools in Kassel. From 1990 he gave lectures at Gazi University in Ankara.

In addition to his job as an art teacher, he worked as a sculptor in his own workshop. He was interested in the geometric shape of the cube from an early age. Since the systematic-constructive work he began in the 1960s, he has been intensively concerned with the definition of the cube in space.
