Klaus Mueller-Zahlmann

Klaus Mueller-Zahlmann (born November 17, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a former mayor of Bad Oeynhausen .

Career

In 1995 Mueller-Zahlmann moved to Bad Oeynhausen. Before his position as mayor, he worked in the health sector for over 30 years, ten of which as administrative manager in clinics for medical rehabilitation (in Bad Oexen ). From 2004 to 2015 he was mayor of Bad Oeynhausen after his re-election on August 30, 2009; he succeeded Gerhard Paul .

In the mayoral election in 2015 he ran as a single candidate, the SPD supported Achim Wilmsmeier . In the first ballot on September 13, 2015, he reached 3rd place with 22.53% and thus did not take part in the runoff on September 27, 2015. He was a member of the SPD. Shortly after the election, he returned his membership card.

Charge of infidelity

In 2010, the public prosecutor in Bielefeld received six complaints against Klaus Mueller-Zahlmann, because he and his treasurer Marco Kindler are said to have concluded risky derivative transactions through WestLB . This happened without informing the city council. Thereupon it was criticized from many sides that these were "betting transactions" and "impermissible speculative transactions". The auditors consulted confirmed the criticism. The possible losses were estimated by members of the council at several million euros. The Bielefeld public prosecutor's office has completed the examination of the reports that are linked to the allegation of infidelity in the city's controversial derivative transactions. On May 23, 2016, the proceedings were discontinued with the consent of the accused and the public prosecutor's office in accordance with Section 153a (1) StPO .

Klaus Mueller-Zahlmann is married and has four children.
