Klaus Schneider (firefighter)

Klaus Schneider (actually Klaus-Eberhard Schneider ; born March 7, 1940 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) is a German lawyer and specialist in the field of fire protection.

Life

Schneider came to Hamm in 1956 and worked there as presiding judge at the Hamm Higher Regional Court until his retirement . From 1967 until his retirement he was a chief fire supervisor in the Hamm volunteer fire department.

Klaus Schneider is active as a lecturer at the fire department's institute in the field of law and as a lecturer at the Bergische Universität in Wuppertal in the field of security technology with the subject of "law in fire protection". This fire protection course was introduced on his initiative in 2004.

After the state fire brigade association went bankrupt at the end of 2009, Schneider was instrumental in setting up a new association, the Association of Fire Brigades in North Rhine-Westphalia, and was its chairman from 2009-2010. Before that he was chairman of the state fire brigade association NRW from 1981 to 1999.

Together with Uli Barth (Department of Safety Technology / Accident Research Methods) and Hans Hölemann (Fire and Explosion Protection ), Schneider is the publisher of the specialist book series “Wuppertal Reports on Safety Technology and Fire and Explosion Protection ”.
