The Klausenburger Michaelskirche (Hungarian Szent Mihály-templom ) in Cluj-Napoca ( German  Klausenburg ) is the most important example of a Gothic hall church in Transylvania . For stylistic considerations, the construction of the church can be expected around the middle of the 14th century. The building is reminiscent of the Church of St. Elisabeth in Košice .

In the first construction phase, the choir was built. The building was originally supposed to have two towers , one of which remained unfinished.

Today the church is used by the Roman Catholic parish of Cluj-Napoca. From 1566 until the Counter Reformation in 1716, the Michaelskirche was the parish church of the Unitarian congregation . Here the reformer Franz David gave his first anti-Trinitarian sermon in 1566. At the end of the 18th century, the Unitarian community finally built its own church building with the Unitarian Church .
