The Observatorio de Sierra Nevada (OSN) is a Spanish observatory on Loma de Dilar , at an altitude of 2896 m in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada in the province of Granada . The observatory was founded in 1847. It is operated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA). The observatory houses several mirror telescopes , the two largest with a primary mirror diameter of 1.5 and 0.9 meters, a telescope specializing in infrared observations with 0.6 meters and two small telescopes with 0.36 meters.

Nearby is the 30 m radio telescope of the Institute for Radio Astronomy in the millimeter range .
