Klavdiia timofeyevna Nowgorodzewa ( Russian Клавдия Тимофеевна Новгородцева * 10 . Jul / 22. March  1876 greg. In Yekaterinburg ; † 23. March 1960 ) was an official of the Russian revolutionary movement and the girlfriend of the head of state Yakov Sverdlov .

Life

Novgorodzewa was a member of the RSDLP from 1904 . During the revolution of 1905 she did party work in the Urals. From July 1917 she headed the publishing house of the Central Committee (ZK) of the Bolsheviks Priboi . She was involved in the preparation and implementation of the October Revolution . From March 1918 she was an advisor to the secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and head of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the party. From 1920 she headed the children's facilities department in the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, after which she worked in publishing.

Novgorodzewas and Sverdlov's son Andrei (1911–1969) became NKVD agent and personal advisor to Lavrenti Beria .
