Life

Klearchus was a son of the Herakleotian tyrant Dionysius and Amastris , a niece of the last Persian king Dareios III. This made Klearchus a grandson of the eponymous founder of the tyranny in Herakleia. As Dionysius in 305 BC After 32 years of reign, Klearchus followed him to the throne under the tutelage of his mother. 302 BC Amastris briefly married the Diadochus Lysimachos and handed over the government to her son, which Klearchus later shared with his brother Oxathres.
