- Victory of the Senonian Celts over the Romans under Lucius Caecilius Metellus Denter at Arretium ; Caecilius falls in battle. The Senones under their ruler Britomaris are also said to have killed Roman negotiators. Thereupon the Roman general Manius Curius Dentatus moves against the Senones, whom he defeats in a battle.
- Lysimachus has his son Agathocles killed because he wanted to poison him.
